My favorite young adult books read in 2010 are listed here. These are in no particular order but alphabetical. These are not necessarily what I think are the best literary achievements nor what might stand the test of time. These titles are the books that emotionally affected me, that I loved reading and couldn’t put down, books I will gladly read again and recommend to my students. Not all of these were originally published in 2010, I just happened to read them in that year.
1. All Unquiet Things by Anna Jarzab
2. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
3. A Brief History of Montmaray by Michelle Cooper
4. Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers
5. Fall For Anything by Courtney Summers
6. The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney
7. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
8. Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
9. Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers
10. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan
Honorable mentions go to We All Fall Down by Nic Sheff and Delirium by Lauren Oliver, but since they aren’t going to be published until 2011, it doesn’t feel right counting them in 2010. I also want to give an honorable mention to the Betsy-Tacy series. I read a large chunk of it in 2010 but couldn’t pick just one to include in the top ten.

This is a fantastic list and has some books that I enjoyed as well! I admit I’m having a hard time getting into Some Girls Are but that could be because of my mood more than anything else.
